Zurge and Seera

Sorry for the delay; works been crazy. Not stressfull really (or to a point that warrents complaint) it's just that things are so disorganized with the client that we've been bounced from episode to episode; it throws you off and you can't tell if you're making progress or not.

Anyway, the only logical reason I could think of for this guy to be the electric guy was preference to spiky hair. he's a member of the "Bot-Bot" clan. A seperate gang of vigilantes who work seperate from the main tower. Zurge is the quiet one of the group, but save the thousands on their power bill; they're possibly the only gang on the planet to drive an electro, courtesy of him.

Second down is Seera. The most confident and assertive, she is Team captain of the tower. Intolerant to apathy and stupidity (things she is constantly immersed in), but in all fairness she doesn't expect anything from anyone she wouldn't expect from herself. Angerred with little provocation, but really dotes on her underlings and watches out for them. The girl she's based on had long hair the last time I saw her, but she had shorter hair for most of the animation course, and the red streaks which suits the fire character better. FYI, the speedy guy's a lot buffer then he was in college after just meeeting him; ironic he's skinnier as a superhero.

Whiplash

Yes, I know, a speedy superhero in red. But I always remember the guy this is based on in a red shirt; it's the colours of the canadian flag.

Anyway, the speedy guys one of the most skilled and formidable in the group, but his smug, juvenile demeanor eliminates any desire for an authorative position.

It only makes sense the speedy guy's gonna be the cocky one; there whole technique is based around hitting and running before the pain even registers; they can get away with things.

Teletta

next on the line of top-ranking supers in a team in the telekinetic person; and perpetuating the cliche is making it the girl. The ability to move things with your mind demands a high standard of personal discipline and ettiquette, which certanly applies to this lady; albeit exaggerated.

Before my friends hate me for all this grossly exaggerated mugging, I would like to point out my personal charicature will be the least flattering of them all....

Mr. Right

Yes, I realize he looks like Mr. Incredible. I finally got around to this little project where I charicature all my classmates from cap 2005 as sueprheroes, and this guy's birthday's coming up , so I figured I get going on it. I guess its a bit obvious to make the biggest guy in the group the strong guy; but he's also the unshakably viruous guy (I'm going to make a few enemies with this project no doubt). The names a copeout, but he's a young husband and a hunk and it is now 2:30 in the morning, and I couldn't think of anything else. I eyes are dry and itchy.

Hug a chicken

I don't care what anyone says, I love this show; at least halfway through the first season, anyway.
I think Antonucci suceeds where Krisfallussi often fails.

The show has that super pushed cartoony style. It's all about assymetry; no side can look the side as another.

hotel studies

Heres some stuff I studied from this indian film. "Dedas" I think it was. Story was a bit bland, but the cinematics and the lighting was just to die for. If anything I think the sketches are toned down in comparison. I was trying to do so research on ritzy indian house for my hotel. Apparently there weren't any indian resort hotels until 1900, so I guess this was the closest thing I could study...

bear fight

Something to put on while I work out some more elaborate ones. I guess I'll need to get faster as work before my mind'll be free to think some stuff out better.

Anyway, a few week s ago my brother asked me to draw some bears fighting, and I just recenlty had some time to think it out.

I feel self consious putting bear drawings on here after seeing the one Shek put up; but then nobody can touch him for animals I suppose....

preview for elephantmarchhotel project

Figured I should work on something for my story again. I'm still not satisfied with the design of the hotel. I'd like to keep it fairly simple and classy, but it's also got to have enough detail to be belivable as a giant establishment where hundreds can accomadate. I'm quite paranoid it's going to look like some gaudy (is that the right spelling?) Hindu themed Vegas Casino. I liked some of these roughs and figured I might as well post them before I screw them up trying to clean one up.

This shot of Annanda's going to be in the poster, but probably only her head, so I figured I might as well show the whole thing here at some point. And yes, I finally managed to track down Arthur de Pins website again (I've seen his art but didn't catch his name), which is an obvious influence on this particular drawing here. The guys got the hottest chubby girls I've ever seen.

'nother birthday card

Another card for a friend; it's only two weeks late. Tommorows labour day, so maybe I'll take a detour up to the college and print it out, along with an updated folio. This one's a two-partner, the lower drawing goes on the inside. It's the same two from that earlier birthday car, its the guy's birthday this time.
